# The "System board 3D" tool
Keywords:# Enabling hardware acceleration in the Browser
For the System Board 3D in the CAI® World to run smoothly and responsively, hardware acceleration in your browser is essential.
If the System Board 3D hardly reacts or runs very slowly despite having a powerful computer, it may be because hardware acceleration in your browser is not enabled.
You may have been directed to this page because the system detected that your hardware acceleration is disabled.
# Select your browser
Enabling hardware acceleration is slightly different in each browser. Please select the browser you are using:
# Google Chrome
Enter/copy this address into the search bar:
↳ chrome://settings/system
Alternative:
Three-dot menu (Alt+F) → Settings → System

Then enable: [Use graphics acceleration when available]
Restart the browser so the change takes effect.
After that, the error message should no longer appear.
# Microsoft Edge
Enter/copy this address into the search bar:
↳edge://settings/system/systemSubPage#GraphicsAcceleration
Alternative:
Three-dot menu (Alt+F) → Settings → System and Performance → Graphics Acceleration

Then enable: [Use graphics acceleration when available]
Restart the browser so the change takes effect.
After that, the error message should no longer appear.
# Safari
Apple devices generally use chips without a separate GPU. Therefore, enabling hardware acceleration is usually not necessary – or not visible in the settings.
In addition, Safari does not clearly indicate whether hardware acceleration is active. This is why our error message is not displayed in Safari.
If you still wish to check:
- Open Safari.
- Go to: Safari → Settings → Advanced
- Enable: [Enable hardware acceleration]
# Mozilla Firefox
In Firefox, automatic detection of hardware acceleration does not work reliably. Therefore, no warning message is displayed.
If you still wish to check:
Enter/copy this address into the search bar:
↳about:preferences
Alternative:
Three-line menu → Settings → General
Once there:
Scroll down until you reach the ‘Performance’ section.
- Uncheck [Use recommended performance settings]

2. Enable [Use hardware acceleration when available]
3. Restart Firefox to apply the changes.
