# Getting Started: Session Management in a Meeting
In an ongoing Teams meeting, you can open the app as a moderator via the upper "Apps" area. The central session management will then be available to you.

Registration & Login
If the session management is not yet displayed at this point, you may not be logged in. In this case, simply log in with your usual platform credentials via the registered account.
Once you are logged in, the following functions are available:
- Use existing sessions: Search for and open previously prepared sessions. This allows you to set up content in advance or continue working seamlessly on the developed results during follow-up appointments.
- Create a new session: Create an additional session directly and select it using the add (New session) button.
- Confirm selection: Click "Save" to set the session for interactive collaboration. Note: For existing sessions, make sure that the people present in the meeting match the content of the selected session.
# Working with the Sidebar
The selected session opens directly in the Teams sidebar. Here you will find important additional information about the session, such as the creator and active usage times.

As soon as it fits the course of the meeting, you can share the session with all participants. To do this, click the "Share in meeting" button (or the "Share" button provided by Microsoft Teams).
This opens the session with all its tools in the central main area ("Stage"), allowing all participants to enter the session directly.
Keep an Eye on the Interaction Status
The sidebar remains active during the share. In the "Currently online" section, you can follow live how the participants are entering the session.
# Collaboration on the Main Stage ("Stage")
When the session is opened on the Stage (the main area of the Teams window), all participants can work together directly with the tools.
When opening or entering the session, please note the following:
- Manual login: If the entry does not happen automatically for some people, they may still need to log in.
- Guest access & waiting room: Alternatively, participants can report to the session waiting room as a guest with a name of their choice. Admission is then granted by the moderation via the participant administration of the waiting room.
# Ending Collaboration
If you want to end the interactive phase in the meeting, simply click the "Stop sharing" button. The joint work in the session will be closed – the work results achieved up to that point will, of course, remain fully and securely preserved.
