# The Basics: App Installation and Personal App Area

You can obtain the app for integration into your Microsoft products directly from the Microsoft Marketplace.

Once added, you can access your personal app area ("Static Tab") in the sidebar of your Microsoft applications (Teams / Microsoft 365) at any time, independently of specific meetings.

  • Direct Access: Gain centralized access to manage all your sessions.
  • Preparation: Create new sessions and set up content at your own pace before a meeting starts.
  • Follow-up: Access your results directly after the meeting to continue post-meeting tasks.

# Session Management in Meetings

How are these interactive tools used during an active Teams meeting?

In a running Teams meeting, hosts/presenters can open the app via the "Apps" menu in the top bar. From there, you can directly access your pre-created sessions or set up new ad-hoc sessions.

Registration & Sign-in

If session management does not appear at this point, you may not be signed in yet. Simply log in using your standard platform credentials via the linked account.

Once signed in, the following functions are available:

  • Use Existing Sessions: Search for and open pre-arranged sessions. This allows you to set up content in advance or seamlessly pick up where you left off in follow-up appointments.
  • Create a New Session: Click the add button (New session) to create and select an additional session directly.
  • Confirm Selection: Click "Save" to set the session for interactive collaboration. Note: For existing sessions, ensure that the meeting participants match the content permissions of the selected session.

# Working with the Sidebar

The selected session opens in an overview panel within the Teams sidebar. Here you will find essential details alongside the session name, such as the creator of the session and active usage duration.

As soon as it fits the flow of your meeting, you can share the session with all participants. To do so, click the "Share to meeting" button (or the standard "Share" button provided by Microsoft Teams).

This opens the session with all its interactive tools in the main area ("Stage"), allowing all participants to enter the session directly.

Keep Track of Interaction Status

The sidebar remains active during sharing. You can monitor participant entry into the session live via the "Currently online" section.

# Collaboration on the Main Stage

When the session opens on the Stage (the main area of the Teams window), all participants can work together directly using the interactive tools.

Please keep the following points in mind when opening or entering the session:

  • Manual Sign-in: If entry does not happen automatically for some participants, they may need to log in manually.
  • Guest Access & Waiting Room: Alternatively, participants can join as guests by entering a custom name in the session waiting room. The host can then admit them via the waiting room participant management.

# Ending Collaboration

When you want to finish the interactive phase of your meeting, simply click "Stop sharing". The collaborative workspace will close, while all working results generated up to that point remain fully and securely saved.
