# Using permanent connections for regular appointments

Contacts offer great value when you regularly collaborate with specific people or clients. While guests in ad-hoc sessions must be admitted manually from the waiting room every time, sending a contact request creates a permanent connection.

Through the contact request, you link an existing account or enable your counterpart to create their own free account. This allows participants to enter your sessions independently in the future and view content and results asynchronously.

Note

This feature is intended for advanced users to optimize recurring appointments. To get started, we recommend starting with flexible ad-hoc sessions and only switching to contacts and groups when needed.
